House of Alba · App guide in 6 languages · ★4.7 from 4,584 reviews
The Palacio de las Dueñas belongs to the House of Alba, and the late Duchess Cayetana lived here. It is about 8 minutes' walk north of the Lebrija Palace, past the Setas.
It is the greenest of Seville's private palaces: a Gothic-Mudéjar patio with bougainvillea, orange trees and a fountain, and gardens around it. Inside, the family's collection runs to more than 1,400 works, from paintings and tapestries to flamenco and bullfighting memorabilia. The poet Antonio Machado was born in the house.
The ticket includes an app guide in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Italian, so bring headphones and some phone battery.
Lebrija is Roman and scholarly; Dueñas is personal and romantic, a family home full of photographs and fans. Together with Casa de Pilatos, they make a full day of private palaces within a 12-minute walk.

You want a garden palace and a more personal, lived-in house after the Roman focus of Lebrija.
You prefer a human guide: the private tour covers Lebrija and Casa de Pilatos rather than Dueñas.
